Red Hartebeest (Alcelaphus buselaphus)
The fastest antelope in South Africa. A plain dwelling grazer, mostly active during the early mornings and late afternoons. Red Hartebeest are anatomatically adapt to withstand hot temperatures. They do not drink often. Both sexes have horns, but the female’s are slimmer than the male’s.
They are not very tough. Aim a third from the bottom of the body, in line with the front leg. Consider mainly broadside and quartering away shots.
